The Peacebuilding Commission Annual Session marks 20 years of the UN peacebuilding architecture, focusing on partnerships for innovation, inclusion and impact. On 25 June 2026, the Peacebuilding Commission will hold its Annual Session in the General Assembly Hall under the theme "UN Peacebuilding @20 - Partnerships for Innovation, Inclusion and Impact." The session will mark twenty years of the UN peacebuilding architecture and the Secretary-General's Peacebuilding Fund, bringing together Member States, senior UN officials, international financial institutions, regional organizations, civil society and private sector representatives to discuss how partnerships can strengthen innovation, inclusion and impact in peacebuilding. The President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), H.E. Mr. Lok Bahadur Thapa, and the Chair of the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC), H.E. Mr. Omar Hilale, will convene a joint meeting of ECOSOC and the PBC on 22 June 2026 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Trusteeship Council Chamber, United Nations Headquarters in New York. The joint meeting will focus on " From Risk to Resilience: Advancing Social Cohesion through Job Creation in Peacebuilding Contexts ".
