Geneva Peace Talks: Act Now for a Peaceful World.

Geneva Peace Talks: Act Now for a Peaceful World.

Each year, the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September, as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire. This year's overarching theme is Act Now for a Peaceful World.

Under the theme "Peace is Possible," this year's event brings together an extraordinary group of individuals from around the world, from diplomats, peacebuilders, community leaders, and artists, all united in the belief that peace is possible. By sharing personal lived experiences, they will illuminate that peace is not only necessary, but achievable through increasing understanding, respect, and justice in our daily lives.

The Peace Talks is a global platform that elevates storytelling as a powerful tool to foster dialogue and cultivate understanding. Since its founding in 2013 by the United Nations Office at Geneva, the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, and Interpeace, with support from the Swiss Government and Mirabaud Group, the initiative has featured over 200 speakers from 60 nationalities, across more than 20 editions in 8 countries.
